My name is Diana Vázquez, a Toronto-based illustrator originally from Mexico. My work explores the quiet logic beneath illogical behavior — stories where creatures follow rules that make perfect sense to them, and none at all to us. I create narrative, character-driven illustrations that balance subtle humour with atmosphere and stillness, grounded in visual storytelling for children's books.
I studied Illustration at Seneca College, where I received the Best in Show Award at the Graduate Exhibition. I am the illustrator of Animals in Absurd Situations, a coloring book published by Gusanillo Editorial (Spain, 2026), and I am currently developing new work for children's publishing. I was drawn to Red Fox Literary for the range in your roster, from atmospheric storytelling to bold, character-driven humor.
